Transforming Rare Disease Detection Across Clinical Care – An initiative around HPP in adults
For adults with Hypophosphatasia (HPP), the road to diagnosis is often long and frustrating, averaging 6 years between onset of symptoms, such as chronic bone pain, fractures and fatigue, and receiving a diagnosis. These delays take a heavy toll on patients through repeated appointments, unnecessary tests, and worsening symptoms, while also adding strain on clinicians and health systems.
In this webinar, clinical experts from Microsoft and Pangaea Data will share how Pangaea’s collaboration with Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease is looking to change this reality. This collaboration aims to develop, clinically validate and obtain regulatory approval for an Artificial Intelligence Clinical Decision Support System (AI-CDSS) across 9 countries, designed to help health systems improve detection of HPP in adults, based on information within their electronic health records (EHRs).
Pangaea’s platform already integrates directly into the EHR system and with ambient listening tools, such as Microsoft Dragon Copilot, enabling real-time analysis of patient records at the point of care for numerous other hard-to-diagnose conditions. This unified approach delivers a faster return on investment for health systems compared to adopting separate AI models on an ad hoc basis for each disease. Leveraging agentic AI frameworks, the platform also empowers clinicians to take immediate next steps, such as referrals and follow-ups, without disrupting workflows, thereby removing administrative burden, or compromising privacy compliance.
Built for clinicians, by clinicians, the platform is helping to close care gaps, accelerate diagnosis, and improve patient outcomes. Join us to explore how this work is being extended in the context of HPP in adults and how Pangaea’s scalable AI platform could help transform patient journeys, ease pressure on your health system, and set a new standard for sustainable AI adoption in healthcare.
