Vibhor has a breadth of experience in life sciences through his work in industry and academia over the last two decades. Prior to Pangaea, Vibhor started and built the European business for Quantum Secure, which was an enterprise software solutions provider headquartered in Silicon Valley and was successfully acquired by a global corporation in 2015. Following his work at Quantum Secure, Vibhor served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Strategy and Sales at Seven Bridges Genomics, which was founded at Harvard and provided a cloud based bioinformatics platform. Vibhor has also worked as a management and technology consultant for Deloitte. Vibhor’s academic career focused on conducting molecular biology studies and building bioinformatics tools and machine learning models with epigenetic, genomic, transcriptomic and clinical trial data in the context of oncology and infectious diseases. Vibhor has access to an extensive global network in the Life Sciences industry and is regularly invited to speak at international conferences, government funded programs and investment summits.

Professor Yike Guo assumed office as Provost of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on 1 December 2022. Prior to this role, he was the Vice-President (Research and Development) of HKBU. Professor Guo is also Professor of Computing Science in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London (2002 – now, on leave since 2020 January). Before joining HKBU, he was the founding Director of the Data Science Institute at Imperial College since 2014, which is one of the six Imperial College Global Challenge Institutes. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), Member of Academia Europaea (MAE), Fellow of British Computer Society (FBCS). Professor Guo has published over 250 articles, papers and reports. Projects he has contributed to have been internationally recognized, including winning the “Most Innovative Data Intensive Application Award” at the Supercomputing 2002 conference for Discovery Net, the Bio-IT World “Best Practices Award” for U-BIOPRED in 2014 and the “Best Open Source Software Award” from ACM SIGMM in 2017.

Jingqing is the Head of AI at Pangaea Data Limited. He earned his PhD in Computing from Imperial College London in 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Yi-Ke Guo. His research interest is in Language Modelling, Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, Data Mining and Deep Learning, with an emphasis on their applications in healthcare. Jingqing is the founder and main contributor to popular deep learning tools, such as TensorLayer 2.0 and PEGASUS. His projects have received over 10,000 stars on GitHub and millions of downloads on HuggingFace. He was awarded National Scholarship of China (top 1%) in 2015.

Dr. Musen is Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Stanford University, where he is Director of the Stanford Center for Biomedical Informatics Research. Dr. Musen conducts research related to open science, data stewardship, intelligent systems, and biomedical decision support. His group developed Protégé, the world’s most widely used technology for building and managing terminologies and ontologies. He is principal investigator of the National Center for Biomedical Ontology, one of the original National Centers for Biomedical Computing created by the U.S. National Institutes of Heath (NIH). Dr. Musen chaired the Health Informatics and Modeling Topic Advisory Group for the World Health Organization’s revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) and he currently directs the WHO Collaborating Center for Classification, Terminology, and Standards at Stanford University. Early in his career, Dr. Musen received the Young Investigator Award for Research in Medical Knowledge Systems from the American Association of Medical Systems and Informatics and a Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation. In 2006, he was recipient of the Donald A. B. Lindberg Award for Innovation in Informatics from the American Medical Informatics Association.

Rick is a 28-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, having held senior positions in Clinical Development at Merck & Co. and AstraZeneca. His career has included leading cardiovascular drug development at Merck, and leadership roles in the U.S. Business, Global Medical Sciences, and New Opportunities at AstraZeneca. In 2014 he became a Managing Director in QuintilesIMS (now IQVIA) Consulting Services and then a Senior Vice-President in IQVIA Design & Delivery Innovation, leading the Strategic Drug Development business unit. This unit supports biopharma companies to design integrated development, regulatory, and commercial strategies for their assets, as well as due diligence activities. Rick now is the Managing Director of Pharma Design Solutions, Ltd., his own consultancy practice, supporting senior biopharmaceutical executives with their corporate and organizational aspirations, as well as technology companies interested in improving R&D productivity in the pharmaceutical industry.

Ramon has a distinguished track record in entrepreneurship, innovation, and executive management in the digital health and life sciences industries. Most recently, Ramon held the role of Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Strategy for QIAGEN N.V., a global provider of sample and assay technologies for molecular diagnostics, applied testing, academic and pharmaceutical research.

While at QIAGEN, Ramon founded QIAGEN Digital Insights (QDI) to build on its acquisition of Ingenuity Systems for entry into the AI, data science, and informatics markets. Ramon led the effort to found a new business unit, reporting to the CEO, to spearhead and accelerate this market entry, and helped recruit the founding QDI leadership team. He subsequently defined and drove the market entry roadmap and technology and data strategy that ultimately delivered a portfolio of 30 data science products and services through internal R&D and external acquisitions. Ramon further led the development and commercialization of an award-winning AI-based precision medicine product line that successfully guided care of 1M+ patients, unlocked a data rights strategy that enabled QDI to expand into the real-world evidence market. QDI rapidly establishing QIAGEN as an acclaimed market leader in research and clinical informatics markets, and achieved investor recognition as one of QIAGEN’s “crown jewels” (JP Morgan, 2019).

Prior to QIAGEN, Ramon founded Ingenuity Systems out of Stanford University to use AI and data curation to unlock the value of the human genome. As founding CTO and SVP Research, Ramon drove the venture-funded development of an award-winning core technology platform, unique data assets, and growing product lines (including IPA – Ingenuity Pathway Analysis) that ultimately defined a new market segment around genome interpretation and systems biology. Through these efforts, Ingenuity established itself as a global leader in AI-driven genome interpretation, predictive drug discovery, and cloud-based data management for pharma, biotech, and life sciences enterprises. QIAGEN acquired Ingenuity in 2013 for $105M to serve as a cornerstone for its expansion into sequencing and software and data markets.

Prior to Ingenuity, Ramon held several technology leadership positions at Stanford Medicine, where he founded SUMMIT, the Stanford University Medical Media and Information Technologies lab, an innovation lab for digital approaches to medical education and clinical decision making. Ramon also serves as principal at Digital Alchemy, a consultancy specializing in innovation, product, business model and go-to-market strategies for digital health startups as well as digital transformation and tech+data strategy creation for life sciences, pharma/biotech, and diagnostics organizations.

Ramon received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Biomedical Data Sciences from Stanford Medical School, his B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a B.A. in English and French Literature from Stanford University. He holds dual citizenship (Swiss and American), speaks 4 languages, has authored numerous patents and publications, and advises and presents on digital health topics around the world.

Joe Donahue has more than thirty years of executive level entrepreneurial and Board experience in global life sciences and technology companies, private equity and banking firms, and industry organizations. His roles have included Managing Partner for Medidata’s Acorn AI business, Managing Director Global Life Sciences R&D with Accenture, Senior Vice President at BioReference Laboratories / GeneDx, Senior Vice President Life Sciences with Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property & Science, Vice President of Global Life Sciences with Spotfire, as well as several early-stage companies serving the life sciences informatics and analytics market. In addition to working with Pangaea Data, he has also been an advisor or Board member to numerous companies and organizations involved in life sciences, including Torreya Insights (a spin-off from Torreya Partners), GenoSpace (a spin-off from Dana Farber Cancer Institute), Monocl Software, the Pistoia Alliance, the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, Onex Corporation, Kingdom Capital, and the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Roundtable of Genomics and Precision Health. He has degrees in Chemistry and Computer Science from Villanova University in Villanova, PA
